Glider aerobatics is a fascinating and challenging form of model flying that is captivating more and more model pilots. Would you also be interested in mastering a glider model and flying precise aerobatic maneuvers?

This year, there will once again be two introductory days where you can get to know this exciting branch of model flying with the support of active aerobatic pilots.

These events offer you the opportunity to learn about aerobatics with gliders and to get hands-on practice. The event begins with a brief theoretical session. Topics such as aerobatic maneuvers, flight programs, the flight box, safety considerations, adjustments to the glider models, and more will be discussed. Afterward, course participants will successfully put what they’ve learned into practice using their own model gliders. There’s also the opportunity to fly a large acro glider in a one-on-one instructor-student session and experience its characteristics firsthand. Whether you’re a beginner, an intermediate pilot, or a seasoned competitor, everyone is welcome.

Two trial days are planned:

- June 13, 2026, at MFV
Brislach - August 22, 2026, in Heimenhofen

Our judges are back in school

The judges were prepared for the upcoming season and competitions using a well-thought-out three-step model. The organizers, René and Andy, first held several video conferences in January and February, during which the new acrobatic programs were presented and discussed in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on establishing uniform judging criteria to ensure fairness and transparency.

On March 28, the eleven male judges and one female judge met in Seon for the theoretical portion. There, they delved deeper into the content covered in the video conferences and further solidified the fundamentals of judging.

The practical portion took place in the afternoon of the same day on the MFV Seon airfield. Several pilots demonstrated the new “Advance” and “Unlimited” aerobatic programs in flight. The judges evaluated these flights on-site, applying the discussed evaluation criteria directly. Afterward, the flights were analyzed together, and any irregularities in execution were discussed. This ensured that all judges applied the scoring standards consistently and confidently.

Instruction: The various flight maneuvers were discussed in detail, and attention was drawn to any deviations.
