AMC Geneva Meeting

With perfect weather, the AMC had the immense pleasure of opening its doors on this first weekend in September to offer the public an exciting show and provide pilots with a friendly atmosphere.

With its grass runway stretching over 150 m, the AMC provides a venue for flying large models, jets, and gliders with impressive wingspans! This year, 25 pilots from the Geneva area gathered to fly their models. Jet models are booming within the AMC; this year’s lineup included, among others, a 20-year-old F-15, re-engined with two P80s. Large-scale aerobatics were not overlooked, thanks to Sylvain Pasini, an AMC member and Swiss champion. He demonstrated his electric Sukhoi (see the article in the previous issue!) with remarkable elegance and precision.
On Saturday evening, the model planes were set aside to make way for a rock concert—a very rock concert! With over 200 people partying and cheering on our field, the atmosphere was reminiscent of well-known music festivals. The next day, the tents were quickly taken down to make way for another day of flying.

An exceptional weekend, much to the delight of the audience and, above all, the pilots. See you in 2012 for the next edition!
