MG MÜNCHENBUCHSEE: EXHIBITION 2026

The exhibition concept from previous years was retained: Only models that were built at the MG Münchenbuchsee or that required at least some original model-building work—such as the installation of drive and RC technology—were displayed.

We also have ARF models, and they provide plenty of fun and variety at the airfield; however, at the exhibition, our main focus was on showcasing model building.

A wide variety of model-building techniques demonstrated the diversity of the hobby: The construction of simple Depron models, the traditional building of ribbed wings, a demonstration of fiberglass fuselage fabrication, and the 3D printing of an electric-impeller model were just some of the elements that made for a varied and interesting exhibition.

The variety of models was also impressive: from the lightest model with a takeoff weight of about 30 g, through traditionally built models, to turbine jets with a takeoff weight of more than 15 kg, a wide range of model categories was represented.

Although there were many fellow model aircraft enthusiasts among the exhibition visitors—thank you very much for your valued visit—a large number of visitors from the surrounding area also helped fill the exhibition hall to capacity. It was striking how many visitors lingered in the exhibition for a long time and showed great interest in the models and model-building techniques on display. Was the new location responsible for this increase in attendance, or was it the increased promotion via social media...? Or: Is it because people appreciate that we showcase practical craftsmanship...? We don’t know. But this success should ensure that this wasn’t the last exhibition held in these premises—though first, we “have to” build some new models again...!
