35th International F3A Friendship Fly-In of the Northeast Region in Reichenburg

3

Under ideal conditions, this year's international F3A aerobatics competition was once again held in Reichenburg. The competition was part of the inaugural FAI World Cup.

What began to take shape last year has achieved a near-total breakthrough this year: electric propulsion. Further improvements in battery technology have also played a major role in building pilots’ confidence in this low-vibration propulsion system. The Hacke C50-15XL-Acro-Comp, paired with the MasterSpin 99 Opto, has become almost standard in F3A. Added to this are models from Pletten-

berg, and Neumotors. Furthermore, the beautifully built F3A models from Oxai are enjoying increasing popularity. The new biplanes by Wolfgang and Roland Matt not only bring variety to the scene but also demonstrate outstanding performance, particularly in knife-edge flight and roll maneuvers. Thanks are due to the active Reichenburg model flying club for organizing the event once again, and especially to Willy Spillmann, who, as competition director, once again had everything firmly under control. The nearly 30 participants certainly got their money’s worth in terms of both competition and camaraderie. it
