2007 Swiss Championships in Free-Flight Gliders – F1A in Emmen; F1B and F1SK in Wauwilermoos
It was a beautiful late-summer day when the free-flight enthusiasts gathered with their glider models at the Emmen airfield for the Swiss Championship. In the afternoon, there was a brief rain shower, which fortunately didn’t last long. The wind blew from various directions. Unfortunately, we had to ask the security guards a few times to open the gates to Ruag and the military base to free the models from their “captivity.” Thanks to the security guards. The number of participants rose this year from 12 to 19. MG Breitenbach alone was represented by six pilots. Since only one junior was present, no title could be awarded this year either. Four teenagers participated in the bunker flying event, which took place at the same time. If we want to continue competing in F1A in the future, we urgently need to recruit new talent. Competition director Urs Müller from the Dinti Model Flying Club
kon explained the competition procedure and reminded participants of the rules to be followed. Urs Müller skillfully guided the entire competition. The judging panel
consisted of Christoph Bachmann, Kurt Sager, and Walter Bürgi. The first round began right on time at 9:00 a.m. and lasted one hour. After six rounds,
rounds, three pilots had achieved the maximum score. One decided not to participate in the tiebreaker because the wind had picked up significantly. There were then

A showdown between father and son. Heinz Bleuer won the duel and became Swiss champion, ahead of Michael Bleuer and Hans Schoder. To this day, I don’t know if he ever found the model again after that long flight. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the championship.
The F1B-SK Swiss Championships took place in beautiful weather at Wauwilermoos. Walter Eggimann was crowned Swiss F1B Champion, ahead of Dieter Siebenmann and Hans Schoder. Christoph Bachmann was named Swiss F1SK Champion, ahead of Heinz Bleuer and Heiner Borer. Unfortunately, there are no photos.
