"Young Pilots Take Off" – Summer Fun with the Fricktal Model Aircraft Club
On July 11, 2025, the annual summer camp took place at the Fricktal Model Aircraft Club’s airfield. Twelve enthusiastic students took the opportunity to gain their first experience flying radio-controlled model airplanes.
In perfect summer weather, three models were available in a safe instructor-student setup: two electric-powered airplanes and one traditional model with an internal combustion engine. Under the expert guidance of club members, the children enjoyed an exciting and educational afternoon. Everyone got to make several flights, and two particularly talented young pilots even emerged, who immediately got the hang of flying. While the flights were taking place, the participants built small glider models out of balsa wood, which they were then able to let glide across the field—much to everyone’s delight.
The Fricktal Model Flying Club would like to thank all the volunteers and is already looking forward to next year’s summer camp, when the motto will once again be: “Take off and have fun!”
