Access to the military base is only possible with prior registration. This year, we were able to reach the MG Dübendorf airfield quickly and easily after passing through security. Nello Nero, president of IGEJS, welcomed the 25 pilots who had made the trip to Dübendorf. Two pilots from Germany—Jörg Rehm and Rainer Zürn—were also in attendance this year. At first, a farmer was busy spreading manure on the field next to the runway; thanks to the drag hoses and the Bise wind, the odor was barely

noticeable. Thanks to mutual consideration, this barely disrupted flight operations, and the farmer soon finished his work. A real treat for the eyes was Martin Gassmann’s Swiss Airliner A320neo, which took to the air early on. You had to look twice to avoid thinking that a real airplane had strayed from Zurich Airport to Dübendorf. At the Dübendorf military airfield, the Bise gradually picked up, making landings quite a challenge at times.

Legendary: The Amacker Impeller! “Who invented it?”

While the “man-carrying” Mirage recently completed its final flight in Switzerland, five Mirage models were on display in Dübendorf.

At the debriefing, all participants received a certificate and, as is tradition, two stickers designed by Urs Mayländer.

A big thank you goes out to the organizers of this gathering! A huge thank you is also due to the loyal volunteers who helped run the food and beverage stand.

We’ll meet again in 2025 at the Dübendorf Military Airfield.
