Rebirth

Model building is often a way of “delving into the past.” Many a project is brought back to life from the history of “manned aviation” by building a model airplane based on such a prototype.

Let’s take the P-16 as an example, which we’re featuring in this issue of MFS. This jet dates back to a time when we in Switzerland were still capable of building such an aircraft ourselves—something unimaginable today.

However, as a model airplane, it’s still perfectly possible today to bring such an aircraft to life in the sky; Kurt Eich proves this with his latest creation from his KEIRO workshop. With his milled parts kit, he provides a high-precision foundation for a rare model airplane.

The original P-16 was “Made in Switzerland” back then, just as the model is today; that’s something we can be proud of.
