Region 3 RC Glider (F3B) Championships in Buochs

The F3B Regional Championship was held for the first time at the Buochs Airfield, and was perfectly organized by MG Nidwalden. Since, unfortunately, there has been a chronic shortage of participants from Region 3 for several years now, the region has joined forces with Region 7. This allows for an exciting F3B competition to be held even at this level. Despite initially weak thermals, flights lasted 7 minutes, so pilots had to earn the 1,000-point score with the most precise landing possible. In Discipline C (speed flight), times in the 18-second range were achieved. The models used were mostly commercially available (V-Ultra, Ellipse, and Stratos II), as well as home-built designs (Logo-Team and the good old Tarantula). Some pilots were already using the new turquoise Powerline (offering greater elasticity and pulling power). In the afternoon, the “Mechuito Speed Cup” was held, which some pilots used as a training session and which offered various prizes.
