A payload of 3,100 kg
International Helicopter Rally – August 2025, Stabio

When it’s August and it should be vacation time, you’d think people would have time to attend events.
Not so on August 16–17. A wonderful summer weekend, ideal for an event. Unfortunately, no—some people were absent. A result of the summer break?
It wasn’t all that bad, though. In addition to the usual models, this year’s focus was on the Kaman K-Max, with four models on display. The model stands out from other helicopters due to its slender body and two side rotors, which resemble ears. The aircraft, used primarily in forestry and for
cargo transport, is equipped with two parallel, counter-rotating side rotors developed by Anton Flettner.
It seats one person and can carry an enormous payload. With an empty weight of 2,300 kg, it can handle a payload of 3,100 kg and reach a top speed of 185 km/h. A true powerhouse. In addition, there were
classic models on display as well, notable for their paint jobs.
All in all, it was a successful event, thanks to the organization by the GAM 2000 group, which also took care of our physical well-being; it will remain a memorable experience. Thank you.
