Friendly Flight: 24th Erlen Cup in Breitenbach
The long-standing Erlen Cup, a precision landing competition featuring RC gliders, was held for the 24th time this year by the Breitenbach Model Aircraft Club.
On Sunday, October 19, 2008, 22 model airplane pilots from the Brislach, Liestal, and Breitenbach clubs gathered. After the fog at the airfield cleared around noon to make way for the sun’s rays, three rounds were flown in the afternoon under optimal conditions, thanks in part to the tireless tow pilots. Johann Zingg won the competition, ahead of Pascal Giger and Freddy Cadonau. The announcement of the results marked the end of a wonderful 2008 Erlen Cup, where fun and camaraderie took center stage.
