MFS Photo of the Year 2011

Every year, the best MFS photo is honored at the Presidents’ Conference of the Swiss Model Flying Association (SMV). At this year’s conference in Baden, the MFS editor was able to honor three people:

1. Marco Schnyder as a photographer
2. Marco Schnyder as a longtime organizer and director of the ProAero Aviation Youth Camp
3. Marco Schnyder as a guiding force for us model aviators at the AeCS Central Secretariat

The photo was taken at the 2011 youth camp, where participants were able to experience their first flight in a tethered hot-air balloon. At the ProAero Youth Camp—although founded by model aviators—manned aviation has been nurtured and given just as much attention as model aviation from the very beginning, and our magazine MFS also repeatedly builds bridges to our “big” brothers and sisters, as this selected photo shows. ■
