5. Arbon Indoor Air Show

The Fascination of Flying—A Family Experience

Our 5th Indoor Air Show on February 27 and 28, 2010, at the Seeparksaal in Arbon is an event for the whole family—an aviation weekend where you can experience model aircraft up close.

Two flight simulators will be available. Children can build small model airplanes under supervision and fly a zeppelin or helicopter. An expert will explain the technology behind various engines, and an airbrush artist will demonstrate his skills. The flight program is put together by the pilots themselves, coordinated by the program director, and narrated by the announcer. Many pilots from Switzerland and abroad are already looking forward to this event because it gives them the chance to present their custom-built aircraft to an interested audience and prove that all their hard work and fine-tuning has paid off.

Admission is free for everyone, and there is no entry fee. Each participating pilot will also receive a snack voucher. Officials from surrounding municipalities will be invited in writing in advance. Various media outlets will publicize our event to the general public, and friendly competitions promise excitement and spectacle. “Young pilots” can, for example, purchase EPP throw gliders for 12 Swiss francs and test them out in the children’s competition. Several event partners will enhance the air show. Among those invited are the “manntragenden,” a show dance group; several pilots with their scale models; a model-building shop; balloonists; and others. Flying is possible continuously from Saturday through Sunday. Registration is encouraged but not required. Overnight accommodations are available at the

Free in the main hall or adjacent rooms (bring a sleeping bag and mat). For the latest information and registration, visit www.mfv-arbon.ch.
