They fly over the Hahnenmoos like large birds—and only upon closer inspection do they turn out to be colorful model airplanes.

This summer, the Alpine Model Aircraft Camp was held for the 16th time at the Hahnenmoos Pass. Thanks to another round of good weather, the young model pilots got plenty of flying in and were able to demonstrate and improve their flying skills under a variety of wind and thermal conditions. Using just a few pieces of balsa wood and a pine strip, the participants were able to build a simple glider based on the camp’s own plans; some even ventured to build their own designs. At the end of the week, under ideal conditions, these gliders took to the air for the glider competition, the goal of which was to achieve the longest possible flight time in two runs. At the evening awards ceremony, every participant received great prizes thanks to our sponsors.

We extend our heartfelt thanks for the support.
