Flying Indoor in Prangins

Warbirds were the theme of this 7th edition of the “Flying Indoor” event in Prangins, organized by GAM La Côte.

Numerous flying machines took to the air in a variety of demonstrations: pylon racing, individual displays, helicopters (outdoors), F3P, F3P AM, paper airplane contests for children, and landings on a moving aircraft carrier in rough seas. They even handed out toy guns so the audience could have fun “machine-gunning” the planes as they flew by—not without causing some damage, mind you. 250 people a day, often families with many children, took part in this humorous “massacre” evoking World War II.

Participants and spectators were treated to excellent facilities in the gym at the Morettes community center in Prangins. GAM La Côte did a great job by organizing, in addition to the demonstration hall, a

a hall for drone races. Introductory sessions were offered there for aspiring modelers. A static display featured scale models based on this year’s theme. And let’s not forget the cafeteria at—

a place to quench one’s thirst, grab a bite to eat, and exchange ideas. An event like this required 25 active volunteers over two days!

The evening was meant to be festive, featuring pool dance performances. A few people took the opportunity to spend the night there, thus wisely avoiding the

Saturday-night police checkpoints. A wonderful memory of an indoor event that bridges the gap between

the outdoor flying seasons—and let’s not forget to thank GAM La Côte and all the volunteers for organizing

these events. See you next year.
