Militky Cup 2019
43rd International Electric Flight Meeting in Pfäffikon
This year’s Electric Flight Meeting kicked off once again with the FAI World Cup competition in the F5B electric motor glider class. This competition, whose rounds alternate with those of the F5F class (larger models with max. 6S LiPo batteries), was held under ideal conditions. Unfortunately, the number of participants once again left much to be desired. Many foreign F5B pilots regularly participate in two major events abroad, while other competitions in Switzerland or Austria are operating at minimum capacity, and Italy has even canceled all F5B events. Our Swiss pilots deserve a tip of the hat. Most of them participate in a great many FAI World Cup events abroad. It seems to me that a certain degree of foresight and an understanding of the bigger picture

has faded from the scene. The F5B trophies went to reigning world champion Gerben von Berkun of the Netherlands, as well as to Thomas Wäckerlin and Marco Cantoni of Switzerland. Complete results at www.modellflug.ch The rest of the Militky Cup program featured large gliders and experimental aircraft. We’ll cover the latter in a future issue.
