FAI World Cup 2019
53rd International F3A Friendship Fly-In, Principality of Liechtenstein
The International F3A Friendship Fly-In in Liechtenstein—which, following the introduction of the FAI World Cup, counts toward its annual standings—was once again organized in exemplary fashion this year. The 51 competitors (up from 35 in 2010) benefited from the organizers’ extensive expertise as well as an infrastructure that leaves nothing to be desired. A large portion of the participants are regulars. The convenience of competing at the same location every year and being able to rely on the quality of the event’s organization is undeniably appealing. Numerous Swiss F3A pilots participate regularly.
Local pilot Stefan Kaiser and Swiss pilot Sandro Matti were locked in a neck-and-neck race. Germany’s Christian Niklass, who finished in 3rd place, trailed significantly behind. Austria’s Gernot Bruckmann stood out with his exotic model and secured 5th place. The second-best Swiss pilot was Reto Schumacher. For the results, see www.modellflug.ch
