In La Chaux-de-Fonds: 5th International PYLON RACING CLUB 20 Competition
The 5th Pylon Racing Competition took place on Sunday, August 30, 1981, under splendid weather conditions at the Eplatures Airfield in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in front of a large crowd. No fewer than 26 competitors, coming from all over Switzerland and even from France, demonstrated their impressive skills in flight control and technique. It is worth noting that these small remote-controlled airplanes, with an engine displacement of 3.5 cm³, reach top speeds of 180 km/h, and that each heat features four competitors simultaneously circling three pylons arranged in a triangle.
After these races, which thrilled speed enthusiasts, the results were announced in front of a display of prizes.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the competitors for their participation and especially to the organizers who worked to ensure the day’s complete success.
