A Deliberate Focus on Youth Development: Buttikon Student Day
Under bright sunshine, we were able to hold an unforgettable twin-control model flying session with the third-grade class from Lenggis, Jona, using three beautiful model airplanes.
The topic of the “Humans and the Environment” course was the airplane. The lessons covered, among other things, the history of aviation and the basics of aerodynamics. To provide practical insight into the piloting of fixed-wing aircraft—

To this end, flying sessions were organized at the Buttikon model airfield. To ensure that all students got a chance to fly, we had to split the event into two afternoons, with ten children each. The children had the opportunity to fly three different models.
After spending about five minutes each at the dual-control station, every child—and even the teacher—got to enjoy piloting a model aircraft themselves. The highlight of both afternoons was a jet demonstration.
The MG Buttikon is committed to promoting youth development and holds such events regularly.
