Culture Week at Wald High School, Zurich

As part of Culture Week at the Wald ZH High School, teacher Andreas Reiser invited the local clubs in Wald to present their activities. Seven clubs had the opportunity to showcase their hobbies to students and teachers for 20 minutes each. The Alp Scheidegg Model Gliding Club took over the gym, where club president Jürg Eichenberger first spoke about model flying in general and then specifically about it in the Zurich Oberland. Afterward, Thomas Wäckerlin flew a few slowflyers and demonstrated all the things that can be done with them. The 280 attendees, divided into 7 groups, also had the opportunity to ask a few questions and pick up a copy of the Northeast Region’s booklet, “Das ist Modellflug” (That’s Model Flying). For us at MSGAS, it was an interesting experience. We hope that some of the young people there will become enthusiastic about our diverse hobby. ◼
