It needs to be said once again
Dear Readers
You are holding the final issue of MFS for 2018 in your hands. You’ll notice that, once again, X model aviators have written reports, taken photos, and created illustrations for us. These include both longer and shorter stories from local model flying clubs, regions, and national and international associations. Once again, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to all these hardworking contributors. I’d love nothing more than to shake each and every one of your hands. Perhaps one day we’ll have to convene an MFS authors’ assembly. Because you—and only you—are what makes our magazine, MFS, what it is. The MFS Board of Trustees ensures the best possible and most secure conditions so that our editorial team can work freely and independently. This is a task that largely takes place behind the scenes, yet is immensely important for quality and continuity. Thank you very much.
I count myself among those fortunate editors who, for years, have never had to complain about a lack of articles and photos—if anything, we’ve had to deal with an abundance of them. Our MFS issues are bursting at the seams with content. I have great respect for all the model aviation hobbyist writers. They write in addition to their time-consuming model aviation pursuits. That’s why I’ll never be willing to discard your work. I admit, sometimes we could be more concise while conveying the same information. But that’s a difficult challenge. I also hate photos that need to be viewed under a magnifying glass; after all, model aviation photos are a feast for the eyes and a joy to the heart. Photos have taken on great importance at MFS. In closing, I’d still like to express a small wish: a technical report in every issue of MFS. We can be proud to have many technical experts among our ranks. Please continue to contribute articles to MFS. Thank you in advance.
On behalf of the Foundation Board, the editorial team, and myself, I wish all our writers—and, of course, our readers—a wonderful and restful Christmas, all the best, and much success in the New Year.
Warmest regards
Your Editor
