Swissrumfp.ch was founded in 2011 by a small group of RC helicopter pilots from Eastern Switzerland. We wanted to work on a joint project together and decided to further develop the sports fuselage handcrafted by Andreas Beetschen and present it to the public. The commercial aspect was never the main focus, and that remains the case to this day. It should—and must—be fun for everyone involved.

The First Successes

After a brief testing phase with various mechanisms, it became clear that the T-Rex 700E and the Logo 600SE were likely the best suited for installation due to their size and battery compartment. Two showcase models were quickly ready and were very well received at the legendary “Eisbärentreffen” in the Zurich Oberland, despite temperatures around minus 10 degrees. The first orders came in just a few days later.

Expansion of the product line

A little later, we expanded our product line to include a carbon fiber mount that allows the well-known Emcotec magnetic safety switches to be attached to the tail tube of the Henseleit TDR without the need for milling or drilling, thereby adding extra safety and convenience to the model. This allows the batteries to be connected to the model in advance, and the cowling can be installed. Just seconds before takeoff, the transmitter is turned on, and the model is activated by pulling out the magnetic switch.

By modelers, for modelers

New products usually arise from a problem for which we find a solution, test it, and then don’t want to keep it from other model builders. This was also the case with the battery heating case: Since there was no viable solution on the market at the time that allowed for battery-friendly electric-powered flying in the winter, we built a case that warms up the batteries at home and can maintain their temperature for hours at the airfield using a 12-volt power source.

The customer is king

Our customers always come first. We help resolve problems and address their needs and special requests. Starting this year, for example, we are offering pre-painted fuselage kits, since painting a model has been an almost insurmountable hurdle for many.

We won't stop

The products are constantly being improved. For example, the heating case is being equipped with new control electronics, which are being developed and manufactured specifically for this purpose by a model builder we know. This makes it easier to set the desired temperature and also protects connected rechargeable batteries from deep discharge. For more information, visit www.swiss-rumpf.ch.
