3. Elektrojets over Dübendorf

For the third time, the meeting in Dübendorf on April 20, 2008, kicked off the IGEJS flying season. Nello Nero and his loyal helpers from the MG seem to have a good connection with the weather gods, as the sun once again blessed the many pilots and their helpers who had traveled there with a fantastic day. Thanks to the Föhn wind, the numerous photographers in particular were able to take great snapshots of E-Jets with the Alpine range in the background. After a brief briefing, flying began shortly

after 10 a.m. In addition to many familiar models, there were also several new ones to admire, which had been built during the past model-building season. However, due to the poor weather in the preceding weeks, these hadn’t yet been flown in and were first shown in the static display. During the lunch break, the trusted catering crew from MG Dübi treated us to excellent food, as usual! But we were in for a big surprise during the debriefing. Throughout

throughout the day, a jury had been closely observing and evaluating all the models on display. Hans Bühr, representing the jury, presented trophies to six lucky model owners in a wide variety of categories. Our heartfelt thanks go to Nello Nero, the initiator, and Eugen Braumandel, the sponsor of this thoughtful gesture—and, of course, to the entire Dübi crew. We’re already looking forward to the 4th edition next year!
