An Introduction to the World of Flying
On Wednesday of the last week of summer vacation, the Fehraltorf Model Aircraft Club participated for the third time in a summer vacation project week for students in grades 2 through 9.
Over the course of an entire day, the approximately 78 children were introduced to aviation and given a taste of the fascination of flying. Various experts provided the young participants with comprehensive information. A key part of the program was an introduction to model flying. Each child spent half a day building a Graupner glider with the help of an MG volunteer. Flying a model themselves using an electronic dual-control system was met with great enthusiasm and excitement.
The absolute highlight was a short introductory sightseeing flight in a single-seat sport plane around the Speck airfield. Unforgettable hours—an event filled with memories. A big thank you to all the volunteers.
