Over the past few months, the SMV Executive Board has also been working intensively on a number of substantive issues. This included further enhancing and strengthening the promotion of young talent.

Models for promoting young talent—one of the core priorities of the department of the same name.

The Youth Development sub-department, established by the PR & Communications department, has steadily expanded its activities. Since the results of this work are intended not only for young people but also for older individuals returning to the workforce, and to place even greater emphasis on youth development within the SMV, the former sub-department has been renamed and will now be managed at the operational level as the sixth “Youth Development Department.”

The current department head, Thomas Suter, who has held the position for some time, will henceforth act with all the duties and rights of a full member of the Executive Board and the Executive Committee. The new arrangement not only reflects the importance the SMV wishes to place on youth development, but also serves as recognition of the work this team has done to date, which benefits all clubs active in the field of youth development. The new department and the current president must be confirmed at the next SPK in accordance with the bylaws. Based on what has been achieved so far, the Executive Board is confident it will have the support of the club presidents.
