As part of the European Para Trophy (EPT), the Swiss Championship in precision skydiving was held for the first time by MG Signau in the beautiful Emmental region.

The European Para Trophy is a competition series organized by the German Model Flying Association (DMFV), featuring events in Germany and across Europe. The RC skydivers are transported by a drop plane to an altitude of approximately 300 meters. The drop point is determined by the pilot. After being dropped, the model experiences a free fall of at least three seconds; once the parachute opens, the model is steered toward the target circle—the best landing is directly on the center point. One penalty point is awarded for every centimeter away from the center point.

With 30 participants, including 14 from Switzerland, the competition was well attended. Under ideal weather conditions—with a forecast of 31°C—the competition was able to start on time. With four drop planes from Germany and Switzerland, the organizers were well-equipped. The participants also handled the later rising temperatures and

thermal lift, the participants managed well. New to many of the Swiss participants was the DMFV’s camera-assisted digital measurement system, which is used in the EPT.

Fortunately, three young people from Switzerland were also at the starting line. For some participants, it was even their

first competition in parachute target jumping. Everyone found it exciting and was able to pick up valuable tips from the experienced competitors.

After four rounds, reigning Swiss champion Werner Born (MG Langenthal) was crowned the new Swiss champion with 348 points. Martin Gloor took second place

(MG Buchs) with 1,573 points. Remy Iberg (MG Buchs) took third place with 1,591 points.
